FLORISTRY COURSE
Spend five wonderful days with us on our Flower School Tuscany learning practical skills and exploring floral design ideas in the Rebel style of floristry. Create extravagant flower crowns, large installations and table settings for the fabulous final feast with flowers, both cultivated and wild, gathered from our flower farm and foliage foraged in the woods. We will take a trip to nearby Barga, a well-known centre for the arts in this area of Lucca, spend time at Rebel Rebel’s farm, forage in the woods and meet some of the people who help create the Rebel Rebel experience in Italy. We celebrate at the end of the week with a fantastic feast on the terrace under the floral installation created by our students.
ACCOMMODATION
You will be staying at the picturesque Col di Lavacchio, a working organic farm in Tuscany. Set in 28 acres of meadow, vineyard and olive grove, orchard and woodland, Col di Lavacchio is located just 40km north of Lucca in Tuscany. A traditional Garfagnana farmhouse and attached apartment with chestnut beams, exposed stone and terracotta tiles. Perched above a terraced amphitheatre with a small vineyard, the farmhouse has a covered breakfast terrace and a vine clad dining terrace with a huge rustic table and benches. The farmhouse and apartment are comprised of 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. All linen, including bath towels and pool towels, are included. A continental home cooked breakfast of eggs, bread, cereals and drink etc is provided daily. There are hundreds of books and some board games for your evening relax. Alternatively, seek some peace and quiet in a hammock overlooking the vines. Please note that this is very much in the countryside and not located close to a town, however there is full reception and wifi to keep you in touch with the outside world.
FOOD
Breakfast and lunch is included each day, as well as 3 dinners. Tuesday - Thursday dinners will not be provided, we are here for restaurant recommendations and shop runs. Please let us know of any dietary requirements you have prior to the course.
CLOTHING
Please ensure you bring good walking shoes, long trousers for foraging, sun protection and your swimming costumes! There can be mosquitos, so please bring long trousers for the evening and ample spray if you are particularly prone to bites.
